Confirm every rule before planning anything else.

The application
What the application includes.
- The parts
- A complete application has five parts: ACT or SAT scores (not required for 9th grade applicants), academic records and current grades, discipline records, two teacher recommendations, and a parent or guardian questionnaire
- Admissions account
- Families create an online admissions account first. Allow one business day for the request to be processed. The account is set up in Blackbaud, the school's admissions portal.
- Parent or guardian questionnaire
- Applicants complete a Student Application Form, and a parent or guardian completes a Parent/Guardian Questionnaire themselves. The forms ask about academic interests, experiences, readiness, family background and support systems.
- Records
- Academic records (transcripts and current grades) and discipline records are required. Every record must show the applicant's full name.
- Teacher recommendations
- Two teacher recommendations: one from a current math or science teacher and one from a current English or history teacher, submitted electronically through the admissions portal
- How ASMS reviews
- ASMS uses a holistic admissions process. No single item decides admission; each applicant is read as a whole student.
- Decision types
- A decision is Admitted, Waitlisted, Deferred or Denied. Waitlist admission cannot be guaranteed, and eligible applicants who are denied are encouraged to reapply in a future cycle.
